Family Education and Support Father with child

The purpose of Family Education is to support families in the care of their children by providing educational opportunities and support services, and by working with other community agencies serving young children and their families.

The Partnership leads or arranges these activities for families:

  • Frequent community classes on a variety of topics in both English and Spanish
  • Classes for parents at all More at Four sites in both English and Spanish on topics related to kindergarten readiness.
  • Support group for the teen mothers in the Stepping Stones Program.
  • Quarterly Smart Start newsletter that is distributed to parents as well as teachers.
  • Safe Sleep information for all parents of newborns at CMC- Northeast Medical Center.
  • Provide assistance in locating resources for families in Cabarrus County.

Traveling Family/ Teacher Resource Van

The Partnership contracts with Child Care Resources Inc. ( http://www.childcareresourcesinc.org/ ) to operate the Traveling Family/Teacher Resource Van, which visits sites across the county, providing parents with opportunities to borrow books and educational materials for their children.
